A Sleepy Week...

This week Sophie has been a tired girl, sleeping lots but lacking in energy when she’s awake. We have been wondering what  is causing her energy levels to be low and we are putting it down to a growth spurt, teething pains or both of these. Sophie has grown again, she is now nearly filling the length of her cot and 4-5 year old clothes are not baggy on her! Her teeth are causing her lots of discomfort and she has taken to sucking her thumb again, which she hasn’t done in ages.

With her tired spell, Sophie has been irritable and she has become very good at making it known that she is cross! Sophie and I made Valentine’s biscuits and did some crafty stuff this week but she simply threw everything I gave her on the floor, yet she wouldn't let go of her 'Teletubbies' DVD cover when given that! She made it very clear that she’d much rather watch them than do baking with Mummy! Sophie absolutely loves 'Teletubbies' at the moment and has watched it over and over again this week. I think she might even be in danger of turning into one!

We've been out a few times this week, we've been to the shops, on a lovely walk and to ‘Little Chasers’ (CHASE’S Children’s Hospice playgroup). When we went to Little Chaser’s I think Sophie’s favourite part of the morning was the car ride. She loves going out in the car and gets very excited when we drive fast and annoyed if we have to stop! The theme for Little Chaser’s this week was ‘Sheep’. Sophie was not at all interested in sticking cotton wool balls on her sheep and far more interested in what all the other children were doing! She did enjoy the nursery rhymes, the big parachute and pressing buttons to make animal noises on a special toy.

Sophie is really loving her 'Bob the Builder' computer game at the moment. The game is ‘switch operated’ meaning Sophie can press her own switch to operate the game herself. She seems to want to play it most when she sees either Neil or I on the computer, wanting to join in with what we are doing!
