Sophie has recently started taking Riboflavin. She seems to be tolerating it well however I'm not sure she is benefiting much from it.

Anyone else's child taking Riboflavin?

Hiya - This is something i've been asking recently - that and the use of carnitine. Freddie has had some bloods done recently where we are looking at his carnitine levels to see if it is low and worth taking a supplement for. Our guys seem to ignore me when i start asking about supplements. How did it come about that Sophie should try it out?

Hi there Vicki,

Hope Freddie is doing well.

Sophie was started carnitine when she was first diagnosed with mitochondrial disease. Her carnitine leves weren't low but she was started on it as one her Mitochondrial cocktail medicines. She also takes CoQ10, Ascorbic Acid (vitamin C) and Riboflavin.

She was started on Riboflavin later on as there was a possibility she had MADD (a fatty acid oxidation disorder) in which Riboflavin can really help. Sadly though Sophie showed no improvement. She is still taking it at the moment.

Hope this helps!

Nettie
